HELENA, MT – In reaction to an Executive Order signed today by President Trump instructing agencies to waive certain laws in order to expedite federal approvals for new mines, highways, pipelines, and other projects, Republican candidate for Montana’s lone Congressional seat Matt Rosendale issued the following statement:

“Our state is home to a wealth of natural resources, but our ability to develop those resources has been obstructed by a costly, long, and uncertain review process. I am proud to stand with President Trump as he works to accelerate our economy during this crisis, put Americans back to work, and get these essential projects moving,” said Rosendale. “The Keystone XL pipeline alone would contribute over $3 billion to our nations’ GDP during construction. These projects provide good paying jobs and much needed tax revenue to local governments for critical services—which is exactly what our country needs during this challenging economic period.”
