MATT ROSENDALE APPLAUDS SENATE FOR PASSING TAX REFORM
EXPRESSES DISSAPOINTMENT IN SENATOR TESTER’S PARTISAN VOTE
HELENA, Mont. - Today, Glendive rancher Matt Rosendale praised Senate Republicans for passing a tax reform bill late last night that will lower taxes for Montana families and business, while expressing disappointment in Senator Tester’s party line “no” vote.
“Partisan votes are what Montanans have come to expect from Jon Tester. He voted for Obamacare, he voted against Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court and now he voted against lower taxes for Montana families,” Said Rosendale. “We must elect a Senator who means business and will stop the political non-sense to do what’s right for Montana.”
The non-partisan Tax Foundation previously estimated that the Senate Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will lead to an additional 3,000 full time Montana jobs, and leave an average of $2,500 in the pockets of Montana working families.
“The Senate has delivered a much-needed win for working Montana families and main street businesses, despite Senator Tester’s obstruction,” said Rosendale. “Montanans deserve a Senator who will vote to lower their taxes and grow the economy.”
Tax reform passed the Senate 51 to 49. Senator Tester joined Chuck Schumer and all Senate Democrats as a “no” vote to the tax cut package.
The bill will now be sent to conference committee to reconcile both the House version and Senate version of tax reform, passed late last night.
