A group that wants to end Super PACs and dark money in American politics created their very own Super PAC …
The group, End Citizens United, is spending $1.5 million on TV this summer and another half a million dollars on digital ads and direct mail to boost Jon Tester.
There’s more to the story …. At the same time Tester’s publicly railing against Super PACs and dark money spending in our elections, he’s been aided by millions and millions of dollars of this type of cash.
Just look at Tester’s two-faced liberal hypocrisy on this issue:
- Tester promises Montanans, “I’m certainly not going to let a group come in, funded by folks outside the state of Montana. That’s not who I’m accountable to.”
- Tester tweets, “There’s a new out-of-state Super PAC in the #mtsen election. Montanans didn’t stand for it when the Copper Kings tried to buy our elections & we won’t stand for it now …”
- Tester says, ”We’re not going to rely on SuperPACs or Dark Money Groups.”
But low and behold, Tester’s relying on millions from these exact same groups to prop up his campaign …
- Chuck Schumer’s SuperPAC has spent over $1 million in support of Jon Tester this cycle.
- The radical environmental group, the League of Conservation Voters, recently announced they are spending $1 million on the airwaves for the benefit of Tester.
Do you even know about the League of Conservation Voters agenda?
- Advocated for President Obama’s job-killing Clean Power Plan;
- Opposed the Keystone XL pipeline;
- Support WOTUS;
- Stood against the Farm bill this year.
It’s quite the agenda and to top if off, they are bankrolled by liberal billionaires like George Soros.
This election cycle alone these liberal groups have spent nearly $12 million on behalf of Tester. When you look at Tester’s last race back in 2012, outside groups spent nearly $1.7 million supporting him and an astonishing $10.9 million attacking his opponent.
Jon Tester is a two-faced politician. It’s the height of hypocrisy for him to condemn SuperPAC’s and dark money spending in our elections while at the exact same time, he’s benefiting handsomely from millions and millions and millions of dollars from these groups.
If Tester truly cared about money in politics he would tell his liberal out of state friends to stay out of Montana. Instead, he will continue to do what he is best at, saying one thing and doing another.
