Matt Rosendale Files to Run for State Auditor

Senate Majority Leader makes it official at GOP Winter Kick-Off in Bozeman

BOZEMAN, MT—Following months of consideration and countless statements of support from folks across Montana, Senate Majority Leader Matt Rosendale is officially launching his campaign for the State Auditor’s Office.

“Folks across Montana have been encouraging me for the last two months to consider running and serving in this position. After careful consideration and much prayer, my wife and I agree—Montana needs someone who will look out for the folks, I believe I am that guy,” said Rosendale.

Having spent the last six years in the Legislature, Rosendale is quite familiar with the problems facing our state:

“By forcing their will on the people, the Obama/Laslovich party has purely and simply limited healthcare options and raised costs for Montanans. Additionally they eliminated one of the most successful plans (Insure Montana) for small businesses in our state. This was in an effort to force the over 6000 people who own or work for small businesses in our state onto Obamacare. To me, that is unacceptable.”

Rosendale continued by saying, “The citizens of Montana have the right to make their own choices when it comes to healthcare. The government should not be making those decisions for us. Under Obama/Laslovich, that is exactly what has happened. If elected, I will work to open the insurance market in Montana and, along side a newly elected Republican President and Governor, I will work to institute common sense Montana solutions to healthcare.”

In addition to serving as the Montana State Senate Majority Leader, Rosendale is a rancher and real estate developer from Glendive, Montana. He and his wife Jean have been married for 30 years and have three sons, Matthew Jr, Brien and Adam.
