HELENA, MT — Republican candidate for Congress, Matt Rosendale, released a new campaign ad earlier today reaffirming his longstanding commitment to protecting Montanans with pre-existing health conditions.
The ad follows the story of Sandee and her son, who struggled with a life-threatening illness. When her son needed to switch health plans, Sandee struggled to find a plan that would cover his illness—that is until Matt got involved. Matt made sure Montanans have access to a marketplace of insurance plans to ensure that, no matter what medical battle they are facing, they can find an insurance plan that is affordable and will cover their pre-existing condition.
“When my sister was just 17 years old, she lost her battle with cancer, and a few years ago, cancer took my brother’s life. I’m all too familiar with the impact an unexpected illness can have on people’s lives, which is why I have a strong record of standing with Montanans like Sean, who have pre-existing conditions, and it’s why I will always fight to protect coverage for those with pre-existing conditions,” Rosendale said.
Since 2016, when Matt was elected Montana’s State Auditor and Commissioner of Securities and Insurance, he has made access to affordable, high-quality health care his top priority. Matt established a reinsurance program that provides a financial backstop against high-cost insurance claims, allowing insurance companies to mitigate risk and decrease prices while continuing to provide insurance to Montanans with pre-existing and expensive medical conditions.
